If you have been on a tour and would like to leave a comment, we would love to hear from you! admin@hauntedboston.com
I went on a tour with Meaghan tonight and she was fantastic! It was really fun and she is a great story teller. I will definitely recommend you guys to anyone I know visiting Boston (and tell them to try and go on a tour lead by Meaghan).

I've been on other ghost tours (trolley and walking tour) in Boston and Haunted Boston Ghost Tours is by far the BEST walking tour to go on. The other tours were theatrical with fake accents and bad gimmicks. Haunted Boston offered documented stories, first hand accounts, and items I could go see. My guide was a great storyteller and historian. The tour offered a nice mix of ghost stories and history, but not anything I've heard walking along the Freedom Trail. I've recommended them to friends traveling to Boston. Don't waste your money on the other guys.

I just wanted to drop a note about how much I enjoyed the Haunted Boston Ghost Tour I took with Matt as our guide this past Friday. Even with rain pouring down Matt kept his enthusiasm high and delivered an awesome presentation of Boston's interesting history. Matt represents your company well and provided an enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend to all my friends and colleagues when visiting the city !!

I've done a lot of ghost tours over the past few years, and this was by far the top one or two. Our guide definitely made the tour. Her name was Meaghan, and she did a fantastic job telling many ghostly and macabre stories. You walk just shy of a mile, which I liked, because I like a change in scenery. Like one of the last reviewers, we chose this tour over some of the others because we weren't looking for theatrics. We were looking for some history of the city, some dark tales, and to be entertained. We got all three. In terms of what I've paid for ghost tours, this was on the least expensive side - and as I mentioned above, one of the most enjoyable. This tour (my experience was w/ Meaghan) comes highly recommended.

Nikki, our guide, proved to be an agnostic's friend. She reported fact and lore in an intelligent way, and seemed to find the right balance between provoking goose-bumps in those so inclined, and engaging in a reasonable and historically-grounded discussion for those of a cooler bent. Hard to complain about a touristic stroll through old Boston on a beautiful summer's night -- but having an intelligent guide made it even better. No gimmicks here -- no strange accents or costumes or anything silly.

Matt led a spooky tour! He was very knowledgeable and shared interesting haunting tales of Boston's history. I learned a lot about my own city!
Danielle S., August 18, 2011

Had a great time on the Haunted Boston Ghost Tour. Entertaining, saturated with some of the seedier history of old Boston, and I learned a thing or two. Plus, a great bang for my buck.
Andy M., Cambridge, MA, August 14, 2011

My boyfriend and I went on a tour with Meaghan on August, 2. It was POURING rain, which turned out to be pretty awesome because it completely cleared out the Common, making the tour all the more spooky. Despite the horrible weather, Meaghan was professional and informative, and had a great attitude about the whole thing. Thanks!

Just a quick email to let you guys know that we really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was Matt; he was pretty entertaining and really good at telling stories.
Marie-Eve & Jay, July 30, 2011

My husband and I had a great time on the tour. Julie was enthusiastic and interesting, despite the very hot weather. We learned a lot about Boston history, and we especially liked the stories about literary figures. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I went on a tour in July and thoroughly enjoyed it and the tour guide, Meg. She was clearly excited about the stories she was telling and did a fantastic job bringing them to life and making them interesting. After the tour was over she invited us to walk back to the T with her, and continued to tell stories along the walk back. We especially loved getting to learn a bit of history about the downtown Boston area and hear some awesome stories! I really appreciated the added component of walking around and getting to pair the stories with specific sites. Thank you!!

I went on a ghost tour recently with Matt as our guide. The entire 90 minute tour happened during a torrential downpour, but that did not deter me, my tourmates, or Matt. I thought the tour was very informative. It was a good balance of creepy, spooky, and just generally weird, and covered lesser-known interesting bits of Boston history. I'll probably take my parents on it next time they're in town.
Mary F., Cambridge, MA, July 17, 2011

Wonderful job Saturday night, Jeff! My friend Mike and I enjoyed that tour and I have already mentioned your tours to some friends. Hopefully they will check it out for themselves!
Paula T., July 16, 2011

I wanted to leave a comment for Julie. I think she was very knowledgeable about the Common and I enjoyed the tour. In particular I really liked the story about the ghost that can be seen on the [subway] tracks and messes with the new tram drivers. I liked the stories she told that are a great mix of history, facts, legend, and learning. Thank you for your time!
Jeff K., July 15, 2011

Matt was very friendly, enthusiastic, and entertaining! The tour was awesome! He was especially accommodating to our children. We'd love to do the tour again the next time we're back in Boston.
Anthony P., Goodyear, AZ, July 2, 2011

My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to this. Our tour guide, Matt, did not disappoint. He was great! He knew his stuff and obviously enjoyed relaying all of these gruesome and hilarious stories. He even held his own with a few outside hecklers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone I know visiting Boston. I'll be coming back. THANKS!
Rich C., NYC, June 25, 2011

It was a dark and stormy night...and I cannot think of a better way to spend a dreary drizzly raw Saturday night, than following Jeffery Doucette around the Boston Common as he very expertly wove intricate tales of Bostons paranormal. He was so well versed, so much fun to listen to, and a great experience for all of us. I would definitely go again and I recommend it to anyone, whether you think you know Boston history, or not.
Teresa C., June 11, 2011

It's been two days after the tour and I still get chills when I think about some of the stories Matt told us. He is a fantastic storyteller and a cool dude. We all had a really great evening! Although, I'll never walk through the Commons the same way again . . .
Zenzile B., June 5, 2011

This tour was the highlight of our weekend when my friends visited me in Boston. We love learning about historical true stories with an edge, and this fit that description perfectly. Our tour guide was engaging and a great storyteller. Also, I stutter, and the fact that the tour guide gives these tours despite his slight stutter is inspiring. Thank you Matt!
Danette F., May 29, 2011

Some friends and I were in Boston for a few days this week, and we took your tour with Sandy on Thursday evening. I was skeptical, but my group encouraged me to go. Wow! Sandy was articulate, well-informed, and friendly. I learned so much and was really entertained. I just wanted you to know how fantastic she was!
Julie G. from Chicago, May 20, 2011

Ask for Jeff as your tour guide. He is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A nice walk through beautiful, scenic Boston. It promises to be a very enjoyable evening out with friends.
Alison L., Reading, MA, May 15, 2011

Myself, my husband, and two out of town friends enjoyed the tour with Jeff on Saturday night. I've become intrigued with haunted tours in various cities across the world and this one was one of the best I've found. Jeff was an engaging, wonderful story teller, and sufficiently creeped us all out. I would definitely recommend this tour to people coming from out of town and will recommend this for our friends in the future as they come to visit - worth every penny. Our friends loved it and so did we!
Erin Y., April 30, 2011

Greetings! My husband and I recently participated in a tour with your company led by Matt. He stated that it was his first tour with the company and he was an awesome guide. Thank you.
Pinky A., April 25, 2011

I took the last walking tour of the season last night with my boyfriend. I have been wanting to do this for quite some time now and only last night did we have the opportunity. Jeff was amazing! I didn't want him to stop talking, ever. The accounts we heard were fascinating and chilling. I was so frightened, that I didn't want to walk back through the Common to get to the car when the tour was over. Today at work I was telling a tourist (I work at a hotel) all about the history of the Boston Common. I am definitely going to suggest this tour to tourists once your season starts up again. Also, my boyfriend took a picture of me after we finished hearing about the hanging tree. The group had gone ahead and we were lagging behind. The picture was FILLED with orbs. The one he took of Jeff moments before had none. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Christina K., Oct. 31, 2010

The tour was awesome; it topped my senior trip, especially when I took a picture at the intersection of the Great Elm and got a see through picture of what seems to be a girl in a dress. I didn't believe in ghosts until I saw this pic!
Justin M., August 14, 2010

I went on a tour last night (8/2) with a couple friends and our tour guide was Gretchen. It was great! We learned about some pretty freaky and gruesome stories about Boston that I had never heard before. She was very knowledgeable and did a great job leading our large group despite the noise of the Shakespeare production going on in the Common. I will definitely recommend this tour to others. Thanks for a great night!
Sarah C., August 2, 2010

Went on your tour on Saturday, May 29 while in Boston and our tour guide was Jeff. We really enjoyed the tour and thought that Jeff was great. Thanks.
Kathleen S., May 29, 2010

I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you for scheduling a tour for my family Tuesday night (and for your patience while I got things squared away on my end!).   Paul was terrific.  We arrived a bit early and were able to talk with him for a while before the other group arrived, which gave us a chance to get to know each other a bit. My children and I were very impressed with how nice he was and with his knowledge and storytelling ability.  The ghost tour was a great way to conclude our trip to Boston. On occasion friends will go to Boston, and when they do I plan to recommend Haunted Boston (and Paul) to them.
George S., New Jersey, April 13, 2010

Our tour guide was fantastic - very knowledgeable and friendly. (guide Gretchen)
Kathrin H., Virginia, October 14, 2009

We had a tour last night from Jeff and it was most entertaining. He knew his history, kept us moving, and we were sad when it ended.
Chuck H., Massachusetts, October 10, 2009

My boyfriend and I recently went on this tour! We had so much fun learning all about the chilling history behind some of Boston's landmarks. Jeff was our tour guide and he was great! Later, after the tour, my boyfriend and I went back to the sight of the Great Elm Tree in the Boston Commons. We stayed quite awhile and we felt a presence, so we took some pictures; three of the pictures have faces in them!
Emma P., California, September 8, 2009

The tour was excellent. The tour guide, Jeff, was very entertaining and knowledgeable.
MaryAnne H., New York, September 5, 2009

I just wanted to send a huge thank you to you and the tour guide, Matt, for Saturday!  The 3 of us truly appreciated your patience with our multiple phone calls, and we were very grateful that the tour waited for us to arrive. Matt was wonderful, his stories and explanations fascinating, and the experience was superb.  We had a great time! Thanks again, and please do pass on our thanks to Matt!!

Hello, my name is Leslie and in June my husband and I took a Haunted Boston Ghost Tour with your tour guide Paul.  He was fabulous!  He said if we got any pictures to send them in.  I wanted to send this photo that I thought was interesting.  It was taken by the Mary Dyer statue. Thanks!
Leslie B., 06-2008

I just wanted to thank you and Amanda for the wonderful ghost tour this past weekend.  It was definitely one of the highlights of the day.  The girls LOVED Amanda and she was just terrific with them (even putting up listening patiently and with interest to every ghostly encounter that they’ve ever had).  The parents on the trip also enjoyed it immensely.  Haunted Boston will certainly be recommended by me to those traveling to Boston and I’m sure our other parents will do the same.
JoAnn G., Warwick, NY Girl Scout Troop, 05-2008

The tour guide was a good story teller and was personable. She invited us to walk back with her to the starting point and we got to talk to her about stuff not on the tour. (guide Hillary)
Jennifer G., 04-2008

This tour is great if you are from Boston (as I am) or from out of town. My tour consisted of two couples including me and my party so we definitely got special attention from our guide. Our guide was very animated and quite knowledgeable about the history of Boston that you might not know about. She also talked about places in Boston that were not on the tour but equally eerie. If you are looking for ghosts, this is not the tour unless you have a camera, you might be able to catch some orbs of light or faces in the trees throughout the tour. Overall it was enjoyable and the stories she told were true--supposedly! (guide Hillary)
Gaitre L., 10-2007

Very entertaining tour of Boston history! (guide Lissa)
